Post Irma, Update 9/24/17

Good News! As of 2:00pm on 9/24/17 we have internet, phones and something called TV. Now full speed ahead to update all the paper notes we have.

The week of September 25, 2017, we will start our 4th check of all units post Irma. Last week we set all HVAC controls to the home position and thermostats to 78 degrees (unless otherwise instructed) and will reset them to the away mode the week of 10/2/17 (unless otherwise instructed). We have found many of the units’ smoke detectors are beeping due to the prolonged power outage. Also, some security alarm systems are beeping and some have the trouble light on. Please be sure to bring 9 volt batteries with you and have your alarm system checked out upon your arrival. We are told you can’t control your thermostat without the internet.

When you or your guests arrive for the season, please be sure to discard any and all food that's stored in the refrigerator and freezer. We continue to recommend that when you leave to return to your northern home for the (hurricane) season, that you empty your refrigerators/freezers, clean, unplug and leave the doors open. Also do not leave any items on the lanai. Inspect your homes for dust/dirt and be sure to leave it as clean as possible. Dust/dirt is food for mold and could transform into white spots on all objects within 24 hours.
