In preparation for hurricane season, which is June 1 through November 30, we wanted to give you some tips and information regarding your lanai furniture. Also, hurricanes are not the only reason to bring the furniture in.
We suggest and highly recommend, when departing for any reason, that the lanai furniture is always cleaned and put in the unit. We suggest checking the furniture underneath for signs of mildew/mold before bringing it in the unit. Due to the high humidity and rain in Southwest Florida, we have found that clients that leave the furniture out must clean it or have it cleaned to remove the dirt, mold and mildew upon their return. The lanai furniture should always be placed on tile and never on a carpeted surface.
We have been advised that the unclean or damp elements on the lanai furniture can possibly do damage to the inside of the unit as they become the source for mold spores when brought into the unit. So remember, if you determine the furniture is not clean you will need to call a cleaning service before it is put in the unit.
